Janet Elizabeth Hicks

Janet Elizabeth Hicks made her transition to be with the Lord on July 17th 2022 at the age of 81. Born in St. James, Trinidad and Tobago, Janet was a master of culinary skills, baking cakes, cookies, and breads from scratch weekly. She was also a master cosmetologist and advanced self-taught seamstress and tailor making suits and elaborate wedding gowns. Janet truly loved caring for children and the elderly. As a CNA, you could often find her singing to or dancing with her patients as she cared for them daily. She also enjoyed traveling locally and across the globe singing gospel and classical music. She sang with Benny Hinn Ministries, Salt and Pepper Gospel Singers, and the Greater New Haven Community Chorus.

Janet leaves a family legacy: son Tracy and his wife Evelyn , son Trevor and his wife Mary, daughter Lyschel and her husband Justin, granddaughter Yvette, granddaughter Rachel and her husband Rory, grandson Jayce, granddaughter Nevaeh, and great-grandson Jaycen.

A memorial service will be held at Colonial Funerals, 86 Circular Avenue Hamden, CT 06514 on Saturday July 23rd 2022 at 10am visitation followed by memorial service at 12pm . Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
