Jasmine Yvonne Wilkes

Jasmine Yvonne Wilkes, 31, passed away suddenly on Friday, May 30, 2025 in New Haven CT.  Jasmine was born on June 29, 1993 in New Haven, CT.  She was the beloved daughter to Hattie Williams and Demetrius Wilkes Sr.,  She attended New Haven Public Schools where she received her High School Diploma.  She worked in the restaurant industry as a cashier.

Jasmine’s smile would light up a room, whether she was singing, dancing or cracking jokes. Her loving, and sweet spirit always knew how to make you smile.  She was known to be munching on her snacks.  Jasmine was very protective over her family and friends and would give you the shirt off her back.

Jasmine is survived by her loving parents, Hattie Williams and Demetrius Sr. (Derricka) Wilkes.   Her legacy lives on through her beloved three sons Zion Pervis, Samuel Mabry, and Amari Barnes; six brothers Demetrius Wilkes Jr. (New Haven, CT), Melvin Wilkes (Waterbury, CT), Tyshawn Williams (New Haven, CT), Cordell Wilkes (Meriden, CT), Henry Burney (New Haven, CT) and Devin Oliver (Wallingford, CT); three sisters, Shayna Smith Wilkes (New Haven, CT), Deoni Dolphin (Wallingford, CT) , and Demea Wilkes (Wallingford, CT); and her paternal  grandmother Lillie Wilkes (New Haven, CT) along with a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews, Cousins and her Best Friend Tyisha Walker.

Jasmine was predeceased by her maternal Grandparents Hattie and James Williams.

A celebration of life will be held on June 11, 2025 at Trinity Temple Church of God In Christ, 285 Dixwell Ave, New Haven, CT  06511.  Viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a service to follow at 11:00am.
