Jason Charles Middlebrook 50, born August 21, 1973 in New Haven, Connecticut to the late Laura Middlebrook and Charles Johnson Sr. suddenly entered eternal rest on August 5, 2024. Jason an avid cook had a passion for preparing delicious meals for his family and friends, turning every gathering into a memorable feast. His culinary skills were matched only by his talent for fixing things around the house, whether it was a leaky faucet or a broken fence, Jason was always ready to lend a hand and tackle any project that came his way. Jason was a master conversationalist, with the unique ability to charm anyone he met. His friends often joked that he could sell water to a whale, a testament to his persuasive nature and charisma. He had a gift for humor, and once he found a target for his jokes, there was no stopping him. His laughter and playful spirit will be deeply missed.
He was predeceased by his parents: Laura Middlebrook and Charles Johnson of New Haven, CT and six siblings: Charles Johnson Jr., of Wilmington, DE; Reginald Johnson (Tina) of Dayton, OH; Robert Johnson of New Haven, CT; Monique Simons (Earlston) of Norwalk, CT; Jamie Middlebrook, of New Haven, CT. Vivian Hussein of Phoenix AZ.
The beloved and cherished father leaves to mourn his loving wife Cynthia Middlebrook, his three children Jayquis Brock (Shakeema), Javona Lewis- Joyner (Eric), Jalese Brock and three step sons James Hudson (Avion), Tyrell Brock (Ana) and Kristopher Williams.
Jason, also known as “Pop Pop” was adored by his seventeen grandkids.
He is survived by seven sisters : Rhonda Bailey (James) of Stratford, CT; Corlis McFadden (Claude) of Dayton, OH; Irma Johnson, of Pale Dale, CA; Joyce Dowty (John) of New Haven, CT; Aleatha Johnson-Cole (Julius) of Bridgeport, CT; Jodi and Jennifer Middlebrook of New Haven, CT. Three brother-in-laws Steven Williams (Cynthia) of Hamden, Rodney Williams of Meriden and Keith Williams of Tampa FL; two sister in laws Tyheshia Young of West Haven and Teri Maebry (Arthur) of New Haven.
Jason’s kindness extended beyond his immediate family. He will be fondly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
