Ms. Jeannine Pruden, 53, of Naugatuck, CT, passed away unexpectedly on December 1, 2023, at St. Mary’s Hospital. Ms. Pruden was born April 14, 1970 in Waterbury, CT, to Wallace and Doris Pruden. She was educated in the Waterbury Public School system.
Jeannine loved her people and she made sure they knew it! Her signature smile left an impression on all she came into contact with. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. If there was an event going on, Jeannine was going to be there! Whether it was a major milestone, or simply hanging in the park, she was in attendance! Jeannine also had an immense love for music. She stayed up to date with the latest and the greatest.
Jeannine has survived by her only daughter, Azhia Pruden of Waterbury, CT. Her parents; Wallace and Doris Pruden of Waterbury; two brothers; Tracey and Leon Pruden of Waterbury; four nephews; Tracey Pruden, Jr., Justin Pruden, Daelyon Cruz, Josiah Pruden; and one niece; Tabitha Torres. Jeannine has two godchildren; Garon “Bummers” Stevenson and Domonique Mathis, and a host of cousins, aunts, and uncles. She also has a very special aunt, whom she affectionately called, “My Love”; Mother Ruby Stevenson, and her special cousin, who is more like a sister; Kim Stevenson, and her honorary children; Dijon “Peach” Stevenson Devon “Shame” Stevenson (She gave them these nicknames). Jeannine will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
A celebration of Jeannine’s life will be held on Monday December 11, 2023 at 11am at Refuge Church of Christ, 13 Hawkins Street, Waterbury, CT 06704. Viewing in Church from 10-11am. Interment to follow at New Pine Grove Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Colonial Funerals, 270 West Main Street, Waterbury and James R. Sanders, Funeral Director.
