Jermell Lamont Gibson passed away February 22, 2022. After he graduated from high school, he worked for a few construction companies. His recent job was for a moving service trucking company. He enjoyed these types of jobs because he was strong (he maintained a disciplined workout regimen) and loved to stay busy, feel needed and help others.
Jermell was a very loving person. He loved his family and would constantly let them know how much he loved them. Whenever he made seasoned garlic, baked chicken he would often brag on how he perfected the recipe that was given to him by his Auntie Aliya. He would say, “I got it! I got it! Regardless of any of his personal struggles. Jermell always put Allah first in his life and mentioned his love and trust in Allah in his daily conversations. No matter how tough life got, he never let it get him down.
Jermell would lead with humor, a smile and a boisterous laugh. His laugh was contagious. He was such a big cuddly teddy bear. He will be greatly missed.
Jermell is survived by his son Jermell, Jr. and his grandson Jermell, brother Darrell, sisters Denise, Aleshia, Tammy and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins survive Jermell.
A celebration of Jermell’s life will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 10am at Colonial Funerals, 86 Circular Avenue, Hamden. Interment to follow at Beaverdale Memorial Park. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
