Jessica Zelda Jones

Jessica Zelda Jones, loving mother, sister, niece, aunt, cousin, and friend, died on January 3, 2026, surrounded by her family and friends, after a long and courageous fight against breast cancer.

Born on September 2, 1986, in Waterbury, Connecticut, Jessica was the daughter of the late Marilyn S. Parks-Jones and Lewis Jones. Jessica attended Waterbury Public Schools, and The University of Connecticut. Jessica was a beloved member of the Waterbury Community as she was known and respected for her beautiful singing voice, her intricate knitted and crocheted attire and home décor items, and her creative and delicious sweet treats. Jessica was employed by Newport Healthcare, Inc.

Jessica leaves to cherish her memory: her life partner, Stephen Kimble of Hartford; sons, Malik Aaron Christopher Bethea of Norwich and Jonathan Markuis Bethea of Waterbury; siblings Erin Parks of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Kerry, Kevin, and Marisha Jones of Waterbury; her sons’ grandmother and cherished family friend, Valerie Bethea. Additionally, Jessica leaves a host of beloved family members, God children, and friends.

Funeral Services for Jessica will be held on January 16, 2026 at Mount Olive A.M.E Zion Church, 82-100 Pearl Street, Waterbury, CT 06704. Viewing from 9am.-10:30am. Funeral Service will start at 10:30am. Burial will follow at the New Pine Grove Cemetery, 850 Meriden Rd.
