John Schuyler Davis

John Schuyler Davis, age 85, passed away Wednesday June 23, 2021 surrounded by his family. John was born in Woodsville, New Hampshire on November 28, 1935 to the late Lawrence Edward Davis and Eva Frances Meade-Davis. He spent many of his formative years in Rutland Vermont, eventually relocating with his family to Bridgeport, Connecticut. John attended Warren Harding High School and Bullard Haven Technical School before enlisting in the United States Army 82 ^nd airborne, as a paratrooper. During his time serving in the Armed Forces, he attended Radio Repair School and Infantry Radio Maintenance School. After his active duty service, he served his country in the active reserves before he was honorably discharged on September 30, 1962. John continued his education by attending University School in Bridgeport and studied engineering at the University of Bridgeport. He held multiple positions throughout his professional life, ultimately retiring from Xerox where he was recognized in the Presidents Circle, as well as other awards, for his outstanding sale contributions to the organization. He was an avid high performance car enthusiast, owning several himself and enjoyed race car driving. He also enjoyed traveling and his time with his family and loved ones. John is survived by his loving partner and friend Maria Hardin, daughter Deborah Ann Gladding, two granddaughters; Elizabeth Patrice Gladding and Jeanine Alexandra Gladding; eight great-grandchildren; his younger siblings Charles Lawrence Davis, Frances Ann Davis and Lawrence Edward Davis Jr., as well as a host of nephews, nieces and loving friends. He will be missed dearly and remain in our hearts forever.
