John “Jack” Mazza, age 80, of Waterbury, passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was born on February 2, 1939 in New York, son of the late John Mazza Jr. and Emma Gordineer.

Jack served in the Air Force, and then became a dedicated hard working diesel mechanic for more than 40 years at AWD/Winters Bros. Inc. until the day he passed. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved John Wayne and Elvis Presley movies. Jack listened to country music, especially Willie Nelson.

He is survived by his beloved wife of over 28 years, Kathleen Sidoti Mazza of Waterbury. He also was a loving father of David Sidoti Jr. and his wife, Kimberly, of Terryville, and Cory Murphy Sr. of Waterbury. He was the cherished grandfather of Rebecca, David III, and Samantha Sidoti all of Terryville, Cory Jr. and Sophia Murphy both of Waterbury. He also leaves his three sisters Sheila Sunday, Rosemary Felice, and Lizzie Moore and her husband, Alton. In addition, he also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Colonial Funerals, 270 West Main St., Waterbury from 4-7pm. Condolences may be expressed at colonialfunerals.com
