John Richard Mcgowan Iii

On God’s Beautiful Monday Afternoon of May 22 ^nd , 2023, the gates of heaven opened, and John Richard McGowan III was called forward to heaven.

John was born in New Haven, CT on February 11th, 1995, at Yale New Haven Hospital. Born to Mirta Gomez, John R. McGowan II and raised by Gino Crnkovic. John was very well known and loved by many. His love for music and love for his family was over the moon. He brought happiness and light into every room he entered with his infectious smile. He was Loyal, Loving, Caring, thoughtful, Compassionate, giving and so much more. He was very multi-talented; he wrote, rap and sang his own music. He loved sports especially basketball. He enjoyed video games and graphic design as well. He was a devoted son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, godson, cousin, and friend to many. He grew up in New Haven, attended Edgewood School, graduated from Platt Tech High School, Majored in IT Tech Program at Gateway Community College, and Southern University. He also, worked at Pro-Park for Yale New Haven Hospital. To know him was to love him and he will be missed.

John is survived by his Mother Mirta Gomez (Hector Manuel Cortes), Father’s John R. McGowan II & Gino Crnkovic (Alicen Alicea). His sisters Giana Yanisse Crnkovic & Kathalia Yanisse Cortes. His Grandparents Luz Selenia Alers, Jimmy Gomez, John R. McGowan Sr., Lisette Bernier McGowan. His only Niece Maddyson Yanisse Richardson. Uncles Daniel Delaflor, Frankie Gomez, Angel Jose Luis Morales-Lopes and Paul Crnkovic, along with his god parents Rosalie Durso and Michael Caponera and several other family members.

He is pre-deceased by his Cousin Gisselle Denise Hernandez AKA Muka, his uncles, and Great Grandparents.

John will be truly and dearly missed by those who were blessed to have known him.

The viewing will be held on Thursday June 1st, 2023, between the hours of 4pm -8pm at Colonial Funerals 86 Circular Avenue Hamden, CT 06514. Funeral/Mass will be held Friday June 2 ^nd , 2023, between the hours of 10-11am at St. Aedan’s & Brendan Church 112 Fountain Street New Haven, CT 06515, and burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
