Mr. Johnnie (Junior) Brown entered eternal peace on Tuesday May 18, 2021. Mr. Brown was born in New Haven, Connecticut on October 30, 1979 to Johnnie Jackson and the late Alma Brown.

He graduated from James Hillhouse High school and was employed by Wallingford Recycling Center.

Johnnie affectionately known to friends as J5 or simply John Brown Jr was known for his love of music. Junior was always the life of the party, wanting everyone to have a good time no matter the occasion Junior loved the latest fashion and was adamant about his footwear. He would say “If your sneakers were off the outfit was too!” Junior’s calm demeanor and contagious smile allowed him to make everyone around him smile and view each day as a breeze. Juniors meek, gentle, and forgiving spirit was a wonderful part of his character, which will truly be missed.

Junior leaves to cherish his loving memory: his father Johnnie Jackson (Mary); his children, Jay’Viona Brown and Johnnie Brown Jr, sisters; Francis Thomas, Evelyn Jackson, Dionne Lavarin, all of Neptune, New Jersey, Dannetta Wiggins and Anne Leggett of New Haven, CT. Brother Lindsey Suggs. of Cassett, SC. His nieces; Candyce John, Alissa Leggett, Deja Leggett and nephews, Anthony Leggett, and Toddy Leggett all from New Haven, CT. A special friend Gregchelle Griffin, along with a host of family and friends.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday May 28, 2021 at Hamden Memorial Funeral Home, 1300 Dixwell Avenue in Hamden at 11am. Viewing at Hamden Memorial from 10-11am. Interment will be held at Red Hill Church Cemetery Cassatt, SC. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
