Jose Luis Rivera Sr.

It is with great sadness that the family of Jose Luis Rivera Sr of Waterbury, CT announces his passing on Thursday, July 4, 2019. Jose was surrounded by all those who loved him dearly while he entered into his eternal rest. Jose will be lovingly remembered by his children Gloria, Claribel, Jose Jr., and Lydia. He will also be fondly remembered by his sister Isabel Rivera along with his 12 grandchildren, his many great grandkids, and his nieces and nephews. Jose Rivera was born on August 28, 1944 in Moca, Puerto Rico before moving to New York as a young man. He had worked for many years in home improvement and maintenance. Jose had a passion for fixing anything that involved electronics or cars. He was always known as living a very happy life, smiling, and dancing. For his remaining years he lived in Waterbury, CT with his son Jose Luis Rivera Jr. Jose has met many great people throughout his lifetime that will never forget him.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family and pay their respects on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and Wednesday, July 10, 2019 from 9:00am to 11am, with Funeral Services starting at 11am. at the Colonial Funeral Home, 270 W Main St, Waterbury, CT, 06702.
