Joseph Z. Kimbro

Joseph Z. Kimbro (5/6/32 – 8/12/20) Transitioned from this life peacefully in his sleep at Apple Rehabilitation Guilford, on August 12, 2020.

Uncle “Jackie” as he was known by his many nieces and nephews, was a lifelong resident of New Haven.

He enjoyed a special relationship with his nephew, Joseph H. Kimbro. He also leaves to mourn his passing nephew Germano Kimbro, nieces Edith Elizabeth Osborne, and Veronica Kimbro and his many grand and great nieces and nephews. He took great joy in his family.

Joseph, had the distinction of being the “first” Afro American graduate of Notre Dame High School, west Haven, class of 50’.

He is the last surviving sibling. Predeceased by brothers, William, Warren and Martin, sisters Mabel, Edith Elizabeth (Betty), Henrietta, and Theresa.

The family would like to thank and acknowledge the caregivers and staff at Apple Rehabilitation, Guilford and Seasons Hospice, for their exceptional care, kindness, and compassion.
