Juanita Gholston

August 4, 1938 – June 17, 2025

Juanita “Dottie” Gholston of New Haven, CT was born in Pulaski,  VA on August 4, 1938. She was preceded in death by her parents , Percy C. Holmes sr.and Fairy Priscilla Holmes. Grandparents: Emma Cruise Irving  and Archie Irving. Brother: Thomas Edward Holmes Sr.

The family she leaves to cherish her memories are:

Brother: Percy C. Holmes Jr. Daughters: Helene Monique Gholston, Lisa Yvonne Gholston. Grandchildren: Erica Danyelle Gholston (King), Brandon L.F. Augustine, Imani Mon”e Moye, Iyana Simone Moye. Great Grandchildren: Tiana Monique Blackwell, London Nevaeh Augustine, Zoey Pearson and Aaliyah Augustine. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, sister/cousins Irene and Phylis, and dear friends.

Juanita graduated from Christianburg institute in 1957. She also attended Virginia State University. She worked at  Cott soda and Automatic Printing and Mailing as an accountant until she retired. She was also the owner of Designer Baskets . She loved gardening and  sewing . Juanita had a smile that would light up every room she entered, known for her kindness, wisdom, generosity and wit. She was loved by everyone who knew her.

We love you Juanita Gholston (aka) Dottie. Until we meet again and rejoice in the mighty kingdom of Heaven. Amen

Service will be held on June 27, 2025 at 11am at Life Changing Outreach Ministries, 30 Montowese Avenue, North Haven CT. 06473. Viewing in Church from 10-11am. Burial will follow at Beaverdale Memorial Park, 90 Pine Rock Avenue, New Haven CT,06514. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
