Karen Wallen

Karen Wallen, age 67, of New Haven, CT, passed away peacefully on Sunday March 24th with her family by her side.

Karen grew up in New Haven and lived there for the majority of her life. Karen spent many years working as a cashier at Walmart. She made countless friends between co-workers and customers. In her spare time she loved going to play Bingo and go to concerts with her sisters. She loved watching movies and listening to her Elvis, she loved Elvis. One of her best moments in life was when her sister Sherry took her to Graceland to see Elvis’ home. She was never happier.

Karen is survived by her loving family, including her son William Wallen and his wife Liz, daughter Laura Wallen and 9 wonderful grandchildren; William, Mia, Rayna, Nathaniel, Mauriztio, Xzavier, Daemian, George (Geo) and Serenity Wallen. Two sisters Brenda Rose and Cherlyn (Sherry) Wallen, three brothers Richard Rose, Glenn and James Wallen and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Russell Fredrick Wallen and Yolanda Mattie Wallen, Karen was predeceased by sister Ester Fitch, Estrelitta (Star) Wallen, brothers Russell Glenn Wallen, Harry Rose, Brian Wallen, Phillip Wallen and Russell Fredrick Wallen.

Thank you to Leeway Nursing Home, where Karen resided the last year. They loved Karen and treated her amazing, especially at the end. We can’t thank the staff and her nurses enough.
