Katherine Walton, 90 of Waterbury, CT. departed this life in the early morning hours on August 15, 2024 at the Apple Rehab in Watertown, CT. She was born on November 7, 1933 in Hobbsville, NC to the late John and Etta (Beasley) Walton. She was the wife of the late Homer Walton and loved taking care of her home and family.

Katherine accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Waterbury, CT. Known to speak her mind, have strong opinions on many things, she loved life and loved to laugh. Throughout her life, she worked various jobs and retired from the Hershey Company in Naugatuck, CT. Hobbies she enjoyed were cooking, watching wrestling and driving to visit her family in North Carolina until her health began to fail.

Katherine is survived by her daughter, Z. Maxine Booker of Windsor, NC; sons, Donald (Jacquie) Booker of Fountain Inn, SC and Brian Walton of Waterbury, CT; brothers, John Walton of Hertford, NC. and Irvin Walton of Waterbury, CT; six grandchildren, Donald Abdul-Lateef, Donyelle Booker, Devon Booker, Raemond Booker, Ajhanae Waters and Briasha Walton; three great-grandchildren, and two great-great- grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was also predeceased by her first husband Zebedee Booker, brothers, Curtis Walton, David Walton and Charlie Walton and a sister Fannie Jordan.

A Special thank you and shout out to her niece Joyce Bond who lovingly assisted her throughout the years.

A celebration of Katherine’s life will be held on Saturday August 24, 2024 at Colonial Funerals 270 West Main Street at 10am. Viewing in Colonial from 9-10am. Burial to follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery. Colonial Funerals are handling arrangements and James R. Sanders, Funeral Director. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
