Kathey L. Boyd was born to the late Julia Ann Langford Boyd and King Boyd on February 22, 1958, in New Haven, CT. Affectionately known as Kat or Kitty Kat by her family and close friends, Kathey earned her angel wings on May 6, 2025. She was a God-fearing woman who loved to serve and praise the Lord daily. Even in her final moments, she continued to serve the Lord and expressed her devotion to him.

Kathey graduated from High School in the Community in New Haven, CT, and continued her education at Grayson County College in Denison, TX, where she developed her passion for technology. She always kept an eye on the latest technology trends and gadgets to tinker with. Kathey was employed by Comcast Communications as well as Apple Management. As a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan, she proudly displayed her Cowboys pride year-round.

Her three brothers will cherish Kathey’s memories: Clinton J. Sr. (Rochelle) Boyd of Stamford, CT; Curtis D. (Cynthia) Boyd of Hamden, CT; and Reginald E. Boyd of Waterbury, CT. She is also remembered by 11 nieces and nephews: Lanette Nash, Lakeah Boyd, Candra Boyd, Kanisha Harvin, Melissa Boyd Caldwell, Tamara (Foid) Creary, Jamar McNeil, Glenn Mullin, Anthony Dupree, Shequita (Sean) Bogle, and Reginald Boyd Jr. Additionally, Kathey is survived by a host of special cousins: Ms. Ella Langford Griffin, Tywanda Coggins, Jeakettia Preston, Dawn Grimes, Angela Pinkston, Barbara Crockett, Sharon Crockett, Adria Bellamy, Antonita Gilbert, Willie (Ricky) Grimes Jr., Darrell Grimes, Judge Crockett Jr., Adrienne Pritchett Jones, and Derrick Coggins, as well as her godson, Byron Pinkston.

Her death is preceded by her mother, Julia Ann Langford Boyd; her father, King Boyd; her nephew, Clint J. Boyd Jr.; and her niece, Sheena A. Boyd.

A Celebration of Kathey’s life will be held on Thursday, May 15th, 2025, in Pitts Chapel Unified Baptist Church, 64 Brewster Street, New Haven, Connecticut, at 11 am. Viewing in Church from 10 am-11 am. Burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in New Haven, Connecticut. Condolences may be expressed at www.colonialfunerals.com.
