Kenneth Nathaniel Cooper

Kenneth Nathaniel Cooper departed this life on January 12, 2018.  Kenneth, affectionately known as Lil Kenny or K.E./K-Easy was born on January 21, 1982 in New Haven, CT to Deborah Cooper-Woods and Kenneth Thomas.  Lil Kenny lived in and attended the New Haven public school system.  He enjoyed fishing, dancing, and being around his family.  He had an infectious smile that would light up any room.  Lil Kenny had a warm, loving heart and personality that would attract many.  As an adult, family was very important to him.  He loved spending time with his kids, brothers and sisters and other extended family. Lil Kenny tried following in the footsteps of his pops and the examples of both his Ma’Dukes.  He loved God and attended New Life Worship Center under the leadership of Bishop-Elect David McClure Jr.  Also mentored by Apostle Terry Holmes.

Along with his parents, he also leaves to cherish his memory, his second mom; Tawana Thomas and stepdad, James “Papa J” Woods.  Two daughters; Kennyah and Janylah Cooper.  Two sons; Tony Moore and Kaiden Cooper.  Additional kids, Jamyra Gary and Breanna Dawson.  All of New Haven, CT.  Three brothers; Tymel Cooper (Roynisha), Germaine Smith both of Florida.  Tyrone Thomas of Hamden, CT.  Three sisters; Brittany Taft and Gwendolyn Wilkins of New Haven, CT.  Jameisha Woods of West Haven.  One stepsister; Temaka McKnight and two stepbrothers; James Bell and James Woods, all of New Haven, CT.  Maternal Grandparents; Vonnie Stewart and Walter Stevenson.  Paternal Grandparents; Archie and Margaret Thomas.  And Shirley Parker (Nanny).  A special friend Julise Penn.  And a host of other relatives and friends. Lil Kenny was predeceased by his maternal grandfather; Joseph Stewart.

A Celebration of Kenneth’s life will be held on Friday January 19, 2018 in Trinity Temple Church of God in Christ, 285 Dixwell Ave. New Haven at 11 O’clock. Viewing in Church from 10-11am. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at colonialfunerals.com
