Kiashema “Fresh” White-Davis was born on a beautiful summer day on September 8, 1981 at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT to James McDuffie and the late Juanita White. Kiashema peacefully left her earthly body on February 24, 2022 in Meriden, CT.
Kiashema was last employed by Griswold Homecare as a caregiver, where she worked with Pride. Although Kiashema wasn’t an active member, she regularly visited Church On The Rock New Haven as a young child. Kiashema grew up and was educated in the New Haven Public School System, where she attended Eli Whitney Technical School and found her passion for cosmetology, she then started to express herself with different bright colored hair to match her bright smile. Not long after, around the age of 17, she began to fall in love with fashion. She started sewing and, soon after, held a memorable fashion show at the Arts and Ideas studio downtown New Haven. Kia was determined, and she did everything she set her mind to, and “EVERYTHING SHE DID, SHE DID IT BIG!”
Her children were the key to her happiness. She always bragged about Qua and his baseball talent, and about how honored she was that he made her a grandmother. She proudly wore that title! She reminded everyone regularly that Johnna was her twin and how much she enjoyed cooking with her (always inviting Johnna to a cook off), baking although she’d admit Johnna was a better baker, she loved shopping, getting her nails done and just spending quality time with her. “Butter” was her butterball. She and Butter would hang out frequently playing video games, and board games like Pokeno for cand, they also enjoyed binge watching scary movies and TV shows. Silas’s gifts covered her closets because she loved to shower them with gifts.
Ky enjoyed calling those she loved 100x a day as if it was nothing, cooking, playing spades, karaoke, listening to 90’s music, and shopping on eBay, buying the unthinkable. She would always say, “I’ll be in town soon, I’m waiting on these packages.” She would often call her family and say, “Yea, I’m coming to kidnap the kids for a week!” Every chance she got, She left no one out! She enjoyed having all the kids over, allowing their imagination to create the day. She was known by family and friends for giving the biggest and best gifts, expecting nothing but love in return, gifting was her love language, to the point where people became overwhelmed with her gifts. Ky was a pleasure to be around; her heart and intentions were always so pure. It was always all eyes on Ky whenever she entered the room her jewelry hair or smile captured everyone’s attention. She had a laugh that was contagious, a heart as solid as gold and she was an exception to any rules that were set.
Ky leaves three beautiful children to cherish her loving memories, her only daughter, Johnna Davis, of Austin, Texas. Two sons, John Davis III and Silas Davis, both of New Haven, CT, a grandson, Jaheim (Quashon) Williams, Four brothers, Ernest, Elijah, Jeremy (Ann-Marie) White, all of New Haven Kevin Moore of Atlanta Georgia, a sister, Yvonne White, of New Haven. A special Aunt/Sister, Denise Williams, and a special Cousin/Sister, Desire Williams, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, and Nephews.
Kiashema was greeted at the Heavens Gates by her son, Quashon Williams, her loving Mother, Juanita White, her brother, Michael White, the love of her life, Mary “Mother Love” Williams, and her greatest protector, Danny Williams Sr..
