Lavonnia W. Batts

Lavonnia W. Batts, age 82, of New Haven, passed away in her home on November 14, 2021 with her loving family by her side. She was born on June 8, 1939 in Pulaski, Tennessee to the late Margaret Whitaker and raised with three sisters. She had been married to Lowell Batts since November 16, 1957 and of that union came two children Wanda and Reginald Batts. They relocated to New Haven, CT in 1959 where she gained employment at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft until her retirement. She found the lord on August 31, 1980 and remained a loyal servant down to her final days. Left to cherish her memory is her Husband, two sisters, two children, three grandchildren (Jaymar and Shanyce Batts, Torrey Cogdell), four great grandchildren and several extend relatives.

A Celebration of Lavonnia’s life will be held on Monday November 22, 2021 at Bible Gospel Center, 143 Leeder Hill Dr., Hamden. Visitation will be in Church from 10-11am. She will be buried at Hamden Plains Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at colonialfunerals.com
