Lewis J. Zaza

Lewis “Sonny” J. Zaza, age 85 passed peacefully from this life the morning of September 23, 2019 . He was surrounded and supported by his loving family during the last days of his life

Lewis, was born February 23, 1934 to the late Samuel and Antoinette (Grasso) Zaza in Waterbury CT. He is survived by his wife Maureen (Sileo) Zaza, his Son Mark Zaza of Middlebury CT, and daughters and their spouses;  Jennifer and Mark Cosmos of Middlebury and Heather and Stephen LeBlanc of Woodbury, CT. He also leaves behind a sister and brother in-law, Diana Bernard Lawlor of Waterbury, CT and a brother and sister in law Samuel and Maria Zaza of Port St. Lucie Florida.

Lew was a Korean War veteran and loved his country and family with a passion.  There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for them. His seven grandchildren; Nicole, Samantha, and Alexandra Zaza; Kyle and Brian Cosmos, and Ava and Reese LeBlanc were his pride and joy. Lew loved family camping trips, baseball and bowling.  He was always the jokester, making people laugh, even up to his last days. Lew will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 27, from 5-7pm with a short memorial service at 7 at Colonial Funeral Home in Waterbury. Burial with full military honors will be Saturday, September 28 at 11am for family and close friends .
