Lillie R. Bell

Lillie R. Bell, 78, of Hamden, CT departed this life and entered into eternal rest on October 18, 2020.  Lillie was born on September 6, 1942 to the late Joe Bell and Inez Weaver Bell in Hemingway, South Carolina.  Lillie was a loving, kind, and devoted mother and grandmother.

Lillie is survived by son Kenneth Knox (Suzanne) of Port ST. Lucie, Fl., daughters; Gertie Bell of Clayton, NC; Lucille Dozier of New London, CT, and Cynthia Harris Jackson and Priscilla Moore (Kiashema) of Hamden, CT; siblings: Lula McMillan, Julia Grady (Wilson), Willie Joe Bell, Henry Bell (Donna), Ethell Bell (Loretta), Laurus Bell, Warren Bell, Jaime L. Bell, Harry Bell, and J.L. Bell: and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.

Lillie was predeceased by her loving spouse Luther Harris: her children: William Knox, Jerome Harris, and Barbara Harris; her parents: Joe Bell and Inez Weaver Bell; and siblings: Jacob Bell, Dudley Bell, and George Bell.

A celebration of Lillie’s life will be held Saturday October 24, 2020 in Trinity Temple Church, 285 Dixwell, New Haven at 9am. Viewing in Church from 8-9am. Interment will be at Beaverdale Memorial Park. Condolences may be expressed at colonialfunerals.com.
