Loradene Allen , born May 30th, 1963, passed away on May 6th, 2026 at New Britain General Hospital. She was 62 years old and a resident of Waterbury, CT. Loradene was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.
She was the daughter of the late Robert and Rosalie (Harvey) Thomas. Loradene received her education and high school diploma in the Waterbury school system. She retired from Shorewood Packaging after becoming ill. She cherished her family, especially her son, and favorite niece Kimberly Parker, and nurse Stacey Mandato who went above and beyond for her well being , two granddaughters, and two great-grandsons. Loradene found joy in shopping, church, talking on the phone, taking car rides, playing bingo, going on casino trips, attending family gatherings, and sharing memories.
Loradene is survived by her son, Shaun Thomas, and daughter-in-law Kanika Thomas of Waterbury; one sister Oletha Thomas of Waterbury; two brothers, Freddy Harvey wife (Dawn) of Portage, WI, and Norman Thomas wife ( Joleafa ) of Waterbury; two granddaughters, Tajheana Shauna Slade and Shaun Skye Thomas; great-grandchildren Tristan & Timmir Thomas of Waterbury; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was predeceased by four sisters: Carrie Mercer, Marie Pinky Thomas, Arlean Fernandez, and Lauren Thomas, as well as two brothers, Robert Thomas Harvey and Edward Thomas.
A service will be held on Tuesday, May 12th, at 11am at Zion Baptist Church. Viewing at Church from 10-11am. Burial to follow at New Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterbury, CT. Funeral services are entrusted to Colonial Funerals, 270 West Main Street, Waterbury, Connecticut and James R. Sanders, Funeral Director. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
