Louise V Robinson

Mother Louise V. Robinson, seventy-eight, peacefully parted this life in Torrington, CT on Saturday, July 29, 2023 with her family by her side. Mrs. Robinson was born on June 3, 1945 in Emporia, VA to the Late Reverend Merritt N. Chapman and Eva L. (Morgan) Chapman. She received her formal education through the Emporia public school system, graduating from Edward W. Wyatt High School. She relocated to New York where she worked as an Operator for New York Telephone Company for many years. She was married to Isaac Robinson and God blessed their union with five children: Felicia, Edward, Derrick, Wayne and Isaac, Jr. She was also blessed with four beautiful grandchildren: Adeja, Laila, Isaiah and Ivana. Vernell was a member and the Church Mother of City of Life Worship and Deliverance Center where she worshiped. Throughout her life, no matter how difficult, she always walked with God, whom she loved so very much. Her second greatest love was her children. She loved spending time with her family, especially her sons. She instilled morals in them as she would teach them the Bible every Wednesday night. She was very protective of them and kept them safe. For which, they are eternally grateful and because of her they have become good men. In her later years, for a period of time, she lived with her sons. She was given the opportunity to get to know them as adults as they too were given the opportunity to get to learn more about their mom. They learned that she had a witty sense of humor. Oftentimes as they watched gospel concerts together, her son would sing along and she would jokingly ask, “Why are you crying, son?” Treasuring her memories are her sons: Edward & Wayne Robinson of Torrington, CT, Derrick Robinson of Medellin, Columbia, and Isaac Robinson, Jr. (Renee) of Queens, New York; four grandchildren: Adeja, Laila, Isaiah and Ivana; four brothers, Harold Chapman of Virginia, Clinton(Pauline) Chapman and Alton(Karen) Chapman both of North Carolina, Bishop Wilbert(Helen) Chapman of Connecticut; seven sisters, Hester (Willie) Miles and Wanda(Allen) Mason both of New York, Barbara Chapman, Wyonne Futrell, and Vivian Jones all of Virginia, Pauline Chapman, Shirley(Larry) Long of North Carolina, an aunt, in-laws and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. We are forever grateful to her best friend Elder Gail Mercer. She was predeceased by her parents, Reverend Merritt N. Chapman and Eva L. (Morgan) Chapman, her husband, Isaac Robinson, her daughter, Felicia Robinson, two brothers, Pastor David Chapman of Virginia and Herman Chapman of Connecticut.

A celebration of Louise’s life will be held on Monday August 7, 2023 at 1pm at Mt. Olive Church. Viewing in Church from 11-1pm. James R. Sanders, Funeral Director and Colonial Funerals are entrusted with the arrangements. For full obituary and to leave condolences visit Colonialfunerals.com.
