Luis Hernandez Centeno

Luis Hernandez Centeno was born and raised in Aguas Buenas, P.R. Son of the late America Centeno & Ricardo Hernandez. He was the 4th son of 14 children. Luis was born May 23, 1938.

After marrying Carmen Rivera Vazquez in 1965, Luis started a family, raising four children, Orlando, Judith, Yolanda and Lourdes. His family was his most valuable treasure along with his 13 grandchildren.

He was a loving and devoted husband and father who dedicated his life to his family. Luis had a deep connection to his roots and loved spending time in nature, tending to his plants and dedicating himself to harvesting the land.

Luis had a strong faith in God and passed on his values and beliefs to his children, instilling in them the importance of love, kindness, and compassion. He was known for his gentle spirit and his unwavering commitment to his family.

In his free time, Luis enjoyed fishing and playing dominoes with his loved ones, creating lasting memories and cherished moments. He was a man of simple pleasures, finding joy in the little things in life.

Luis Hernandez Centeno lived a life full of love, devotion, and faith, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and kindness that will always be remembered by those who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 in Colonial Funeral Home, 86 Circular Avenue, Hamden, for the Immediate Family from 11am-12pm, Then visitation for Family and Friends from 12pm-1:30pm. Religious Funeral Service will be in Colonial Funeral Home starting at 1:30pm. Burial will follow in Whitneyville Cemetery, of Hamden. Condolences may be expressed at www.colonialfunerals.com.
