Mack Timothy Cotten, 76, passed away on May 22, 2021 , at his residence in Hamden, Connecticut. He was born in Norfolk, Virginia on April 27, 1945, to the late Joseph and Carrie Dell (Askue) Cotten. In 1957 the family moved to New Haven, Connecticut where he attended James Hillhouse High School. There he met the love of his life, Annie Ruth Woods. They married in 1962 and added to this union their only child, Michelle, his pride, and Joy. Mack worked at numerous jobs, including Winchester Arms and High Standard Gun Factory, until he became incapacitated. Mack gave his life to Christ in 1978 under the leadership of Apostle Roberta Knotts. He had his struggles but continued to attend Church with his daughter at times. In 2019, while totally incapacitated, he rededicated his life to Christ. Mack enjoyed listening to his Gospel music and visits from his family. He leaves to mourn his memory his only child, Michelle 9Mitchell) Daniels, grandchildren Kyle, Whitney, Myles, and Taylor Settle. Great-grandchildren, Amiyah, Aria, Keshawn, and Kayden. His siblings, Pauline Cotten Belle, Helen Cotten Barnes, William “Bill” Cotten, Alton “Tom” Cotten, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Besides his parents, Mack was predeceased by several aunts and uncles. His siblings, Joseph Cotten, Jr., Curtis Cotten, Shirley Cotten Staten, Elsie Cotten Bright, and Linda Cotten Whitley.

A Celebration of Mack’s life will be held on Tuesday June 1, 2021 at Colonial, 86 Circular Avenue Hamden, at 11am. Viewing in Colonial from 10-11am. Burial will follow at Beaverdale Memorial Park. Condolences may be expressed at colonialfunerals.com
