Margie English Montanez departed this life on December 7, 2020 after a brief illness. She was born February 17, 1964 in Springfield, MA to William C. English and Evelyn Cheltenham English. She is survived by her husband Emilio Montañez and her daughters, Alexandria Doyles and Emily English and granddaughter Avery Farquharson. She is also survived by sisters Lynne LaBombard (Ronald) and Judith English and a host of relatives and friends. Margie grew up in Springfield, MA and attended public schools in Springfield and Westfield, MA. She moved to Los Angeles, CA and began her Healthcare career at Hollywood Community Hospital where she developed lifelong friendships. She relocated to New Haven, CT in 2000 and became an invaluable member of the New Haven Rheumatology Practice for 18 years. She was well loved by patients, colleagues and staff.
Margie was a member of Faith Church in Wolcott, CT along with her husband and served in the Propel SHE Women’s Ministry. At the time of her passing, she was pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Human Services at Post University. Most recently, she worked at Newport Academy in Bethlehem, CT where she was actively involved in the rehabilitation of at-risk youth. Margie was an adventurous free spirit. She was an avid reader and loved the feeling of turning the pages of a good novel. She loved the beach and spent many lazy summer days under a colorful canopy watching the waves and enjoying a sea breeze with her husband and daughter. She loved her 80s music and enjoyed indoor and outdoor concerts and was always a presence on the New Haven Green for the summer concerts. She loved to giggle and you would never see Margie without her signature red lipstick.
Margie’s passing is a great loss to all who knew and loved her. We were not ready to let her go but she is at rest with her Lord.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
