Marilyn Ann Rey, a lifelong resident of New Haven, Connecticut, was born on August 30, 1954, to the late Jennie and James DeLoughery. She peacefully departed this life on September 29, 2026.
Marilyn devoted her life to caring for others. She was known for her generous heart, unwavering strength, and the love she gave so freely to her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. A true fighter until the very end, Marilyn faced life’s challenges with courage and continued to give love even through difficult times. Her kindness, resilience, and compassion will remain a lasting part of the lives she leaves behind.
Marilyn leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Ismael Rey; her sons, Ismael Rey II and Manuel Rey; and her grandchildren, Ismael Rey III, Xaviel Rey, Mikaila Santamauro, Dilana Rey, Mallory Rey, and Abrianna Gonzales. She was also eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first great-grandchild, Melody Marialyn Ortiz-Rey. Siblings Jean (Richard) Cappola, Kathleen (Kenneth) Lyke, James (Jo-Ann) DeLoughery, Dennis DeLoughery and Maria DeLoughery
She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family members, friends, and countless others who were fortunate to know and love her.
Marilyn was predeceased by her daughter, Maria Magdalena Rey; her brother, Thomas DeLoughery; and her parents, James and Jennie DeLoughery.
Her memory will live on in every life she touched, every kindness she gave, and every heart she helped shape. The love she placed in those around her will remain a flame that never burns out.

A Wake will be held on Tuesday Night, October 6, 2026, at Colonial Funeral Home, 86 Circular Avenue, Hamden, Connecticut, from 5pm-8pm. Visitation will be held on Wednesday Morning, October 7, 2026 from 10am-11am. Funeral Service will start at 11am., in Colonial. Interment will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery of West Haven.
