Marshall Lee Curry Sr.

Marshall Lee “Big M” Curry Sr. was born July 31st, 1942, on Lookout Mountain in Tennessee. He was the youngest child of Charlie and LuVennia Curry. He departed this life on August 23rd, 2023, in New Haven, CT, after a brief illness.

Marshall migrated with his family from Chattanooga, TN to New Haven and worked at Pratt and Whitney for many years as an electrician. He enjoyed sports, spending many years playing both Tennis and participating in bowling leagues. He also enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Marshall was preceded in death by his son, Adrian D. Curry, parents, Charlie and LuVennia, brothers, Charlie Jr., Jimmy and Mark Curry, sister , Louise “Penny” Curry, and grandson, Kraushon Clark.

He is survived by a son, Marshall Curry Jr, New Haven, CT; daughters, Debora Leaks and Felicia (Edward) Lewis, Chattanooga, TN; Grandchildren, Ronnie, and Derrick Leaks, Ashley and Marshall Curry III, Javon, Jawon and Anitra Clark and Reno Brunson; great-grandchildren, Serenity, Alisha, Kimberly, Keira, Cameron, Tremaine, Marshall IV, Liyah, Ethan, Devin,  Quamar, Nyah, Adrianna, Julius, Jahmaine and Vanessa; a great-great grand-daughter Aliyah; sister, Sarah Weeks, nephews; Robert (Monique) and Stephen Weeks, along with nieces; Kellie Bridgeman, Monica (Gilbert Thaddeus) Armour, and a host of family and friends. He is also survived by a friend, Albertha.

A Celebration of Marshall’s life will be held on Friday September 1, 2023 in Colonial, 86 Circular Ave Hamden at 11 o’clock. Viewing in Colonial from 10-11am. Condolences may be expressed at colonialfunerals.com.
