Marshall J. Mckiver

Marshall J McKiver, “Mac” as he was known to his many friends, entered into eternal grace Monday January 29, 2018, following a long battle with cancer and just days after his 70th birthday.  A lifelong resident of New Haven, Marshall graduated from Eli Whitney Technical School in 1965 and later, The University of New Haven earning a BS in Public Administration (1975).  Upon graduation from UNH, Marshall served as Area Manager for the New Haven Housing Authority until 1988 when he went to work as Property Manager for Hill Central Community Cooperative until his retirement in July 2017.  Marshall was a member of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity, Chi Omicron chapter, and a Deacon at New Light Holy Church, 198 Howard Ave, New Haven.  Marshall is preceded in death by mother, Rebecca Branch McKiver, and youngest son Melvin.  He is survived by father, Robert McKiver Sr, siblings, eldest son Marshall (Durham, NC), daughter Regina (Albany, NY), daughter-in-law Cecilia (Durham), and grandsons Ali (Albany), Halil and Farid (Durham).

Viewing and visitation occur Wednesday February 7 at 10:00am, New Light Holy Church, followed by a homecoming celebration at 11:00.  All comers welcomed. Condolences may be expressed at colonialfunerals.com
