Marvin Louis Edwards

Marvin Louis Edwards was born on February 10, 1952, the son of the late Levy Edwards and Ruby Vines. He departed this life on October 16, 2025.

Marvin approached life with determination and intelligence. Whether he was working hard at General Motors or relaxing at Sport Haven, he gave his all. He had a brilliant mathematical mind, enjoyed reading multiple newspapers, and stayed informed about world events. Marvin had a passion for chess and pool — a skilled player who viewed each shot in geometric precision. 

As a father, Marvin was loving, supportive, and devoted — both financially and emotionally — not only to his children but also to relatives in need. Known for his hearty appetite and love of good food, he was affectionately nicknamed “Hoggie” or “Hogmouth.” Marvin had a low keyed personality and a great sense of humor; his kindness, humor, and steadfast love will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

A celebration of Marvin's life will take place on Saturday, November 1st, 2025 at Colonial Funeral Home, 86 Circular Avenue, Hamden CT, 06514. At 11am. Viewing will be held at 10:00AM to 11:00AM at Colonial. Condolences may be expressed at colonialfunerals.com
