Mary M. Avent

Mary Margaret Avent was born on June 16, 1938 to the late Walter Avent Sr. and Verna Williams Avent.

Mary Margaret was raised in north carolina until old enough to depart from her family and moved to new haven, CT to raise her own family. Mary Margaret love to cook, watch her old tv shows, like matlock, murder she wrote, and law and order, and her comedy sitcoms, she also love doing puzzle books. Mary margaret retired from work as a group home counselor for the forbes house in new haven ct. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Jimmy, Richard, Robert, Bill and Walter Jr. Avent and 6 sisters, Julia, Dorothy, Savannah,and Annie Bell Avent, Mattie Avent Jones, and Barbara Avent Massey and a grandson Louis Avent, and a son in law Larry Daniels. She leaves to cherish in her loving memory, 3 daughters, Ruby Dean Avent, Patricia Dyane Avent, and Verna Avent, 2 sons Johnny Avent and Maurice Avent, 2 sisters Tinnie Avent Cuffie and Linda Avent Gones and 1 brother Charles Avent, 11 grand children and 23 great grand children.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 16th at Community Baptist Church, 143 Shelton Avenue, New Haven, Connecticut. Viewing will take place from 10-11am with a service to follow at 11am. Burial will follow at Beaverdale Memorial Park. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com
