Mary O. Hickson-Levitt passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on October 26, 1943, in Chowan, North Carolina, Mary lived a life rooted in faith, service, and love for her family and community.

Mary was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, wife, sister, and friend. She was known for her kind spirit, generous heart, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. Her presence brought comfort and encouragement to many, and her legacy will continue through the generations she leaves behind.

Mary’s children include her beloved firstborn daughter, Sharon Delores Parker, who preceded her in death, along with Mary Louise “LuLu” Hickson, Thomas Edward “Budha” Hickson, and Tracey Rucker. She is also lovingly remembered by her bonus daughters, Pastor Margaret Rucker and Corrine “Mimi” Ricketts, and a large and devoted family of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her Aunt Stella and many close relatives and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Dolphus “Dock” Parker and Beaner Parker (née Hurdle); her sister, Martha Threat; her brother, Dolphus Parker Jr.; her first husband, Leslie Hickson; her second husband, Mark Levett; and her goddaughter, Lena Nealy.

For more than 30 years, Mary was a devoted member of Agape Faith Church of Restoration in Waterbury, Connecticut. She faithfully served as a missionary and evangelist and was deeply committed to helping those in need. One of her most meaningful acts of service was providing meals on the Green in downtown Waterbury, a reflection of her compassion and dedication to her community.

Mary also found joy in music. She loved singing and playing the piano, and her favorite hymn, “Precious Lord, Take My Hand,” was a song she held close to her heart.

Mary O. Hickson-Levitt will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves behind a legacy of faith, service, and love that will endure for many years to come.

A graveside Service will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025 at12:00pm at New Pine Grove Cemetery 850 Meriden Road Waterbury, CT 06705.
