Matilde Maldonado Rodriguez

WATERBURY – Matilde “Maty” (Maldonado) Rodriguez, 78, peacefully passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Beacon Brook Health Center of Naugatuck, CT with her beloved husband of 51 years Hector I. Rodriguez Sr. by her side.

Matilde (Maldonado) Rodriguez was born March 25, 1943 in Penuelas, Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Monserrate and Vicenta (Sierra) Maldonado. She was a member of St. Cecilia and Sagrado Corazón Church where she was active with Circulo de Oracion. Matilde loved to sing, sew, shop, cook, and spend time talking and laughing with her family and friends.

Besides her husband of 51 years, she is survived by her three children, daughter Ivonne Rodriguez, daughter Lydia and her husband Corey Pace of Bloomfield; son Hector Jr and wife Julie Perez of Plainville her granddaughter, Lilah Rodriguez. She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. She is predeceased by her brothers, Felix, Roberto, Domingo, and Vicente; her sisters, Adela and Clotilde.

The family would like to thank the staff of Beacon Brook  Health Center for the care given to their mother during her stay there.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, from 9:00-10:30am at Colonial Funerals, Waterbury, a Catholic mass will follow at 11:00am at All Saints Catholic Church and a Christian burial at All Saints Cemetery, Waterbury, CT. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
