Mattie Lean Murphy

Mattie Lean Murphy, age 83, of Hamden, entered into eternal life on Thursday September 19, 2019 at YNHH (St. Raphael Campus). She was born on April 7, 1936 in Throsby, AL., daughter of the late James and Alice (Willis) Goodson. Beloved wife of the late Sam Murphy for over 35 years. Loving mother of Alice Murphy of New Haven, Alvin Murphy of New Haven, Linda Murphy of New Haven, and Felicia (Chuck) Scroggins of Hamden. Also survived by 19 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, and a host of cousins. Predeceased by one brother Jessie “Buddy” Goodson. Madeline loved her family more the anything else in the world, and she will be deeply missed by her family.

A visitation be held on Wednesday September 25, 2019 at Colonial, 86 Circular Avenue, Hamden from 11am-12pm. Interment will follow at Hamden Plains Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at colonialfunerals.com
