Michael Kevin Jones

Beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle, cousin and friend. Michael “Mike” Kevin Jones (Crawford) 58, of Bridgeport, CT entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 24, 2023 surrounded by his beloved family. Born on October 11, 1964 in New London, CT to the late Ernest J. Crawford Jr. and Irma L. Jones. Michael was a resident of Bridgeport for majority of his life. He attended Central and Bullard-Havens Technical High School. Over the years Michael was employed with Calzone Case Co. where he worked as a faithful employee for over 10+ years while learning how to master many jobs within the factory. He was indeed a jack of all trades with an ability to do whatever he set his mind to accomplish. Mike took on many passions. One of which included gardening. He had an incredible green thumb in which he found comfort and peace in growing fruits, vegetables and tending to his flourishing plants. Mike was such a fun-spirited person with a huge sense of humor. Naturally he brought smiles and laughter to the faces of everyone he met. Whether he was telling a funny life story, hilarious joke or just being HIM, Mike definitely knew how to find the funny in anything. The simplest pleasures in life brought him great joy, even while facing any challenges life brought about, Mike pushed through while wearing his courage as a smile. He was such a kind, loving and compassionate man. As a result of his generous spirit and pleasant personality he was loved by many. His heart was so big and at the center of it you could find the care he held so deeply for his family especially his baby brother Mark “Bee Bee” Crawford. Michael was preceded in death by his parents Ernest J. Crawford Jr. and Irma L. Crawford. Grandparents Joseph and Carrie Jones. Caregiver Mattie Jones, Aunt Marva Jones-Scott, Cousin Joseph Scott. Brother Hercules Govan Jr.

Michael is survived by his beloved Brother Mark A. Crawford of New Haven, CT. First cousins Denise Scott-Ribeiro of Bridgeport, CT, Sandra Scott-Williams (Stephen) of Orlando, FL, Marva Scott-Forbes (Sim) of Ohio, Lisa Scott of Orlando, FL, JimmiLove Scott-Gates (Roger) of Evans, GA, Percy Yates of New Haven, CT and Damon Yates of Danbury, CT.

A Celebration of Michael’s life will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023, in Faith Power and Deliverance Church, 78 Plymouth Street, New Haven at 11am. Viewing in Church from 9-11am. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
