Nancy Myrtle Horne

Nancy Myrtle Horne, 88, passed asway on Monday, March 22, 2021, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY.  Nancy was born May 24, 1932, in Wadesboro, NC to the late Lonnie Thomas and Hallie (Little) Horne.

She had worked for the Department of Motor Vehicles as a keypunch operator in Wethersfield, CT for many years.  She also taught Sunday School and studied nursing and paralegal.

She is survived by her nieces Grace Horne, Annie A. Smith, Patricia Wardlow, Joanne Tanner and Earlece V. Horne of Waterbury, and nephews William Earl (Verty) Horne, Jr., Gilbert Mattocks, Anthony Mattocks, and Keith Horne of New Jersey, also cousins Julia P. Horne of Danbury, Mary Ellen Loper and Jessica Loper of Waterbury, and a host of other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Nancy, was called Myrtle by some family members and friends, attended church, played piano, and cared for children – taking them to church on Sundays.  She also loved caring for those who needed her help and praying and talking about the goodness of the Lord to others.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday April 22, 2021 at Colonial Funerals, 270 West Main Street, Waterbury at Noon. Walk Thru 11am-12. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Waterbury.
