Niggeria Whitley is survived by her mother, Lillian Evans; her father, Harry Whitley, Sr.; her step-father, Johnny Evans; her grandmother, Evelyn Harris; her sisters, Stacy Whitley, LaTonya Whitley, Rashida Whitley, Keisha Whitley, Fanta Jones, Francine Cody, and Roxanne McCormick; (Brothers), Harry Whitley Jr., Dwayne Chatman, and Michael McNeil; her step-siblings, BaKeisha Williams and Dante Pender; (Aunts),Esterene McDougald, Phyllis Johnson, and Rosa-Mae Kinsey (Uncles), Keith Walker Sr., Leslie Johnson Larry Whitley Michael Allen. Her special (Cousins)Marquette White (Rameisha) Jermaine White(Betta) God-Siblings, Trina Coleman, Nijeria Harris, Renee Depoto, Wendy Apuzzo, and Michelle Watley; and her Best friend, Shanda Davis, who was a cherished extension of her family, sharing in life’s joys, challenges, and countless moments of celebration. Her special children; Aernyll Whitley, D’Vonte Chambers, Thadius Chambers, Toni D. Chambers, Thadius Whitley (caretaker), and Daniel McFadden. Her nieces and nephews; Sigourney Whitley, Terrell Fairweather, Rashid Whitley, Tariq Sullivan, Anthony Deis, Avyonia Whitley, Eric Whitley, Harry Whitley III, Olivia Whitley, KaTonya Whitley, Ryan Whitley (caretaker), Colin Smith, Colleene Smith (caretaker), Brittany Whitley (caretaker). Special Nieces, and Nephews, Paige Nieves, Kailey Nieves, Tyler Nieves, Alex Nieves, Jordan Cody, Danielle Fairweather (caretaker), She also leaves behind 28 special grandchildren by her nieces and nephews—all of whom considered her a mother figure.

Niggeria was preceded in death by her grandparents, Acolia Johnson, George Bell, Hattie Allen, Julius Allen, William Roscoe and Retha Whitley, (Uncles) William Roscoe “Boog” Whitley, Larry Johnson, Bobby Lee Walker, James Handy Jr “Jimmy”. (Cousins) Natalie Walker, and Antronus Williams, and her special grandmother; (Aunt) Geraldine Whitley.

A Celebration of Niggeria’s Life will take place on December 30, 2024 at Colonial Funeral Home, 86 Circular Ave Hamden, Ct. 06514. Viewing is from 9:00-11:00 am, and Service will start at 11:00 am, and all who loved her are welcome to attend.
