Otis L. Daniels, of New Haven, Connecticut, transitioned unexpectedly on March 20, 2025, at the age of 29. He was born on February 14, 1996, to Roslyn Streater and Milton Earl Daniels, Sr., and raised by his maternal grandmother, Sara L. Streater; all residing in New Haven, Connecticut.
Otis attended Hillhouse High School in 2010, where he joined the ROTC summer program the beginning of his sophomore year until graduation. While in the ROTC, Otis worked extremely hard to show his dedication and willingness to excel. His senior year he also became council for the All-Boys Youth program. Otis graduated from high school in June 2014 with high honors. He further excelled by enrolling into Western University where he graduated with his bachelor’s degree in psychology, May of 2019. Otis also played basketball for his employer, Yale New Haven Hospital, beginning 2023-2024. He was one of the most talented and motivated players on his team. Basketball was his favorite sport and the Boston Celtics was his favorite team. He was also a huge football fan with his favorite team being the Philadelphia Eagles. He was ecstatic to see them win the Superbowl this year. Otis was such an amazing young man and tried his best to achieve every goal that he set forth. If he could dream it, then he could accomplish it was his motto!
Otis, Odie as family called him, was loved by everyone that graced his presence. Although he was extremely private, he was the coolest and most settled young man anyone could meet. He also enjoyed cooking, spending time with his family (friends) and playing his video games. Once he became a father, he dedicated his entire life to being the best father possible to his beautiful daughter, Celeste. Celeste was his pride and joy, and he made sure that every decision he made in life was with her in Mind.
Otis grew up to become an amazing talented, intelligent, and ambitious man; we will forever be immensely proud of him. Otis was extraordinarily strong, especially with the challenges that we faced as young children. Although, he reached some of his goals; he continued to soar towards unimaginable heights towards other accomplishments. No matter the obstacles he faced throughout his life; he tried desperately to leap every hurdle to get to where he needed to be. Otis was remarkably close with all his siblings and had his own special bond with each one of them. He will forever be missed and hold an incredibly special place in every one of our HEARTS.
Otis leaves to cherish is fondest memories, one daughter, Celeste Emory Daniels, and nephew (Godson), Kyriee Matheney. Three sisters, Jaquata Streater-Harvey (Tyrone), Roslyn Lester, and Rayania Streater. Four brothers: Milton Daniels Jr, Lamont Burroughs, Darius Jackson, and Jeremiah Streater.
