Parris “Skip” Gibbs was born October 29 1947 in Stowe Vt. to the late Bernarr Gibbs, and Marie Fisher. He passed away peacefully April 13 2025 at home with his family, and special friends by his side.
Skip served proudly in the United States Air Force, and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He always had so much love, and pride for his country, bringing his wife, and kids to rallies to show support for the troops during Desert Storm.
Skip would do anything for his kids, participating with them in the YMCA Indian Guides, Civil Air Patrol, and coaching their little league baseball through Greater Hamden Baseball Association.
He was a kind, and quiet man with a dry, yet sarcastic sense of humor. Loved to just be home with his family. He was a UCONN Huskies fanatic, and was so glad he got to see the women win the championship!
Although Skip will be missed terribly by his family, they take comfort knowing he is now reunited with the love of his life of 52 years, Phyllis. He managed to live without her for 363 days before joining her.
He is predeceased by his wife Phyllis. Sister Jean, and Brother “Gibber”
He leaves behind to mourn his death his children Mitch (Karen), and Christina. His Granddaughters Hayley, and Emily. Bonus daughter Verna. Brothers Pete, Joe, Darrell, Dale, and Bernarr Jr. Sisters Sharon, and Crystal. His Fur Grands Pumpkin, and Pickles!
