CELEBRATION OF LIFE

Patricia Ann Brooks-Thorpe was born in New Haven Ct on January 13, 1950.  She is the 5 th child of 10 to be born to Anna K. Brooks-DuBose.  She received her education through the New Haven School Systems. She had a special interest in music and dancing.

She was known and Loved by a host of family and friends. Her favorite pass times were eating well and watching TV soap operas. She had a good sense of humor often using her favorite expression of” back up “which meant you need to get it right.

Patricia worked for a time for Dorsey Co, as a machine operator.

She leaves to mourn her absence her daughter Francette Thorpe, 3 brothers Phillip Brooks Sr., David DuBose and Ralphael Dubose all of New Haven, 2 sisters Annette DuBose of New Haven Ct. and Fatima DuBose -Nelson of Gastonia NC.  She was predeceased by her husband Donald (Ducky) Thorpe, mother Anna K. Brooks-DuBose, brothers Joseph DuBose, Jerry DuBose, Melvin DuBose and Leon Brooks who passed one day before her. They are together forever.

Patricia cherished her family. She Loved all of her family.  Any family member could expect a phone call from her on their Birthday and holidays. If you didn’t receive a birthday call you knew something was wrong. Patricia had a favorite cousin from child hood who she shared her thoughts and concerns with. Her cousin Marie (Carol) Brooks-Moorning was her special cousin / friend. She will be sorely missed by all.

Her Soul is now resting in Peace.

Mom you are missed more than words can explain. I am forever grateful and thankful for these last three months we shared together day by day. Together we made everlasting memories to carry us a lifetime. There are no goodbyes with you, your love will remain in my heart forever. I honor, cherish and respect your strength, I will do exactly what you said, which is take care of myself really good. While you had one biological child, you also adopted Shuvon Pervis as your daughter and Aaliyah Pervis as your grandchild, for that I am extremely thankful.

A celebration of Patricia’s life will be held on Tuesday March 25, 2025 at 11am at Colonial Funerals, 86 Circular Avenue, Hamden, CT. Viewing in Colonial from 10-11am. Burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven, CT. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
