Patricia Ann Mack, age 74 of Hamden, CT, entered into eternal rest on August 27, 2022. Patricia was born on April 22, 1948 in Kansas City, MO to the late Lawrence Johnson, Sr. and Geraldine Johnson.
“Patti”, as she was known by many, graduated from Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven, CT. She went on to work for Yale University in multiple capacities for over 40 years, retiring in 2006 as a Specialist in the Human Resources Transaction Center. Many current and former employees of the University were hired by Patti when she was a Supervisor in charge of temporary hiring!
In her retirement, there was nothing more that Patti enjoyed than spending time with family. Patti truly loved ALL of her family and would do anything she could for anyone if asked. If there was a family cookout, fish fry, game night, or going out to eat, just say it was a family event and Patti would be there. Patti supported and cheered on her great nieces and nephews in their youth sports. She especially enjoyed attending her granddaughter Briana’s dance recitals and competitions. She liked to take road trips with her family, and had fond memories of a family trip to Myrtle Beach. She spent lots of time hanging out and shopping with her daughter in law and granddaughter. She enjoyed dining out, with Texas Roadhouse being one of her favorite restaurants. Patti also loved the Lord, and often watched and supported Jimmy Swaggart and his ministries. She enjoyed Christian and secular music, with Luther Vandross being one of her favorite artists. She also liked watching football and cheering on her beloved New England Patriots.
Patti leaves to cherish her life and memory, her only son Curtis Mack, Jr.(Tanya), her sisters Deborah Claiborne and Denise Carter, her brother Walter Johnson, her granddaughters Briana Mack and Sherrill Hayden(Robert), 5 great-grandchildren, and her former husband Curtis Mack, Sr. She will also be remembered by all of her other family including her nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Erania Hyman, her brother Lawrence Johnson, Jr., and grandson Michael J. Rawls, Sr.
A celebration of Patricia’s life will be held on Saturday September 10, 2022 at Colonial Funerals, 86 Circular Avenue, Hamden, CT at 9:30am. Viewing in Colonial from 8:30am-9:30am. Interment to follow at Beaverdale Memorial Park. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
