Paul Hemphill was born on July 30, 1960, to his devoted parents, Anselow and Pauline Hemphill. Raised in a nurturing and supportive home, Paul was enveloped in warmth, care, and guidance a strong foundation that shaped his character and accompanied him throughout his life.
Paul graduated from James Hillhouse High School in 1978 and continued his education at Morehouse College, where transformative experiences contributed to his personal and professional growth. His childhood on Glen Road was filled with lasting memories and deep friendships that grew into lifelong bonds of brotherhood.
Paul was a dedicated and dependable professional, known for his unwavering work ethic. He devoted over 20 years to H.B. Ives, earning a reputation for his steadfast commitment and reliability. He later brought his talents to Milford Hospital and embraced new opportunities with Aflac Insurance, always approaching each role with enthusiasm and openness to new challenges.
Paul embodied honor and integrity in every aspect of his life. Renowned for his exceptional work ethic and distinctive sense of style, he took great pride in his appearance and always presented himself with dignity and confidence.
Paul shared 38 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Andra (Karen) Hemphill. Their partnership was grounded in unwavering love, commitment, and a deep devotion to family. Together, they raised their cherished daughter, Akesha Greene, who brought immense pride and happiness into their lives. Paul was also a loving and devoted grandfather to his grandchildren, Armani and Kamari Harris, whom he treasured deeply.
Family was the heart of Paul's world. He demonstrated his love through steadfast loyalty, meaningful presence, and unwavering dedication. Paul shared a special bond with each family member and maintained close, cherished friendships. He found joy in the simple pleasures he valued most: Cadillac cars, playing the lottery, and taking great pride in his beautifully maintained home and yard—a tradition he and his wife lovingly continued, inspired by his parents.
Paul's memory will be cherished by his family, friends, and colleagues, whose lives he touched with kindness, generosity, and warmth.
A Memorial Service to Celebrate Paul’s Life will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Colonial Funerals, 86 Circular Avenue, Hamden, Connecticut. Visitation will take place from 10am-11am., followed by the service at 11am. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
