Paul Anthony Yates

Paul Anthony Yates 85, of Waterbury was born in Hartsville S.C. on March 9,1939. He was married to Antoinette Alves-Yates. He was the son of the late July and Cora Lee Yates. Paul attended schools in Hartsville S.C. Graduating from Butler High School.

He worked for Waterbury Rolling Mills for 38 years, until they closed their doors, entering him into retirement. Paul accepted Jesus as his Savior. Paul received an award for his loyalty and dedication along with a certificate signed by the Mayor, for being a faithful member of Zion Baptist Church. He loved playing the trumpet, as well as being with his wife and family.

Paul is survived by sons, Mark A Yates(Maria) of Waterbury; Paul A Yates(Vivian) of Atlanta; Jose Gonzalez(Krystle); Antonio Alves(Daniella); Victor Gonzalez(Jasmine) all of Waterbury. Three daughters, Maria Marshall of Florida; Colina Andrews and Angelina Jacobs(Steven) of Waterbury. Along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many nephews, nieces, extended family and his canine companion, Enzo.

Paul was predeceased by his sons Greg and Elgin Yates.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 11am at Zion Baptist Church, Waterbury. Funeral arrangements have been made with colonial funerals, 270 West Main Street Waterbury, CT and James R. Sanders, Funeral Director. Condolences may be expressed at colonialfuneral.com.
