PAULINE M. ROSCOE A Celebration of Life

Pauline M. Roscoe, 87 of Waterbury, CT, widow of Dennis M. Roscoe Sr., transitioned Wednesday October 14, 2020 at St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Roscoe was born in Gates County, NC, daughter of the late Alfred Leroy and Lula Jane (Kee) Mitchell.

She graduated in 1952 from T.S. Cooper High School in Sunbury, NC.

She married Dennis in 1955. They were married 51 years until Dennis’ death in March 2006. They moved to Waterbury in 1955, where she was employed by Uniroyal for more than 20 years, and retired from St. Mary's Hospital after more than 10 years of service as a Dietary Aide.

She was a faithful member of Zion Baptist Church, serving on the Missionary Society and the Pastor's Aide under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. S. P. Petteway.

She enjoyed reading the Bible, watching inspirational TV, listening to gospel music, baking, and loved being photographed, but mostly, she enjoyed her family and babysitting her boys.

She is survived by one son, Dennis "Danny" M. (Lovie) Roscoe, Jr. of Waterbury, CT; three daughters, Veronica Plater, Clinton MD, Jacqueline D. (Ted) Martin, Orange, CA, Hope Roscoe (Tony) Dove, Waterbury, CT, seven grandchildren; Damien Smith, Drew Roscoe, Duron Roscoe, Devlin Goulet-Roscoe, Ty J. Martin, Bryan Hardy, Mekhi Petteway; five great grandchildren, Daylen Roscoe, Demir Roscoe, Damien Smith, Jr., Destini Carter-Smith, Damani Smith, one brother Allen (Shirley Mae) Mitchell, and two sisters, Fannie Lee Brinkley, Helen Marie Mitchell of Elizabeth City, NC, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. She was predeceased by five brothers; Charlie Frank Mitchell, Thurman Mitchell, George Lee Mitchell, William Mitchell and a brother who died at birth; five sisters; Arvilla Eason, Mary Dantzler, Vivian Smith, Doris Mae Mitchell, Lula Jane Williams.

So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep . . . Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands.
