Phillip A Saddler

Phillip Saddler was born in Middle Quarters, St. Elizabeth Jamaica West Indies. He was the first child of Ivy Tomlinson. Phillip was always an outgoing person. He was one that drew the crowd or influence others. As a young man, Phillip later named himself Milo, a name that stuck to him until death. He was very loving, kind and jovial. It takes nothing for him to get a joke or make a joke out of anything which have everyone laughing.

He spent his early years learning the trade of a mason and tilerwith his uncle-in-law Arnold. He mastered the trade which became his passion. His uncle could leave him with any job to complete and would return and find it well done. He thenworked along side with his uncle both at Alpart and Revere Bauxite Companies.

In his late 30’s, Milo migrated to the United States , Brooklyn New York, where he spent most of his time. He landed a job with Masonry Tender Company where he worked for several years.

Prior to migrating to the US, Milo was always having friends around him and as the years go by, he had a little group of his own where they would meet in the hills, reading their bibles, praying, smoking their challis and flashing their dreadlocks. Here he had a camaraderie among these men that lasted for years even after he migrated. He would wear his locks and grewthem to the length of his ankle but had to cut them because of his health. He was a lover of motor bikes and was known as Ghost Rider in the area. He was known for dressing in his 3 piece suit and his beaver had with the locks all wrapped up underneath.

Milo was a family man, but later had the misfortune of a broken home and life. It was not long after that he relocated to Connecticut. Not long after he started having different health issues which later slowed him down. He was then diagnosed with diabetes and then in 2020, he became legally blind and had to have assistance with care. His health later starts to decline where he was in and out of the hospital, so he needed closer supervision. His daughter Faith had to step in and took on the responsibility to be his primary caregiver along with other assistance.

In February 2026, Milo was hospitalized and spent his 85thbirthday in the hospital. He was later discharged but shortly after was re-admitted again. As his health declines and his body gets weaker, it was evident that he would not be around for very long. On June 4th, he slept away peacefully.

He leaves to mourn, his daughter Faith, sons Gary and Phillip JR, brothers, sisters, grand and great grandchildren, son-in-lawLewis and a host of other relatives and friends.

Thanks to all his former Caregivers but especially Auntie Graceand granddaughter Tiffany who were there for him in his final years.

Rest in Peace Milo. May light perpetual shine upon you.
