Priscilla Lee Moore-Darden

Priscilla Lee Moore-Darden, affectionately known as Mom-Mom 81, of New Haven CT peacefully transitioned on Sunday December 25th, 2022 beside her loving granddaughter Laurice Darden-Long. Priscilla was born on June 4th,1941 to the parents of Cledyth Enos- Moore and David Clayton Moore in West Grove, Pennsylvania. She is one of 15 children.

Priscilla was known to be naturally loving, nurturing and giving. She was a maternal figure to many of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, foster children and youth in her neighborhood; of Dwight-Edgewood. Many have fond memories of her savvy side hustles, cooking, and loving spirit. She would always offer anyone a meal and advice. She was definitely the eyes and ears of her neighborhood and always attuned with what was happening.
Priscilla was an adoring member of Apostolic Ministries in New Haven CT led by Pastor Fred Brown. She lived in her faith in God and his word. She was a member of the baking committee and avidly assisted with whatever was needed for preparation of meals.
Priscilla was delighted to be the central figure in the lives of her family. Anyone who knew her knew she was a star in their eyes and that’s all that ever mattered to her. A maternal figure like her was rare; one that was generous, wise and kind. Nothing can ever replace her impact on the lives she touched. God knew calling her home would increase his wealth.
Her legacy will continue to thrive through her six daughters Cledyth Rawls, Pamela Moore (Titus), Renee Darden, Lydia Humbert (Michael), Kelly Green and Victoria Darden- Myers(Eric), beloved nephew Lewis Santos (Nichelle), six sisters Frances Henderson of New Haven CT, Victoria Henry (Alvin) and Vanessa Moore of Wilmington Delaware, Rosalind Rogers, Sharon Jones and Tina Rogers of New Haven CT, three brothers David Moore (Diane) of Waterbury CT and Mark Moore and Anthony Moore (Helen) of New Haven CT. Her beloved 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild who cherished and an abundance of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by her son David Darden (Ernestine), granddaughter Brittany Jones, her parents, her five brothers Ronald Moore, John Moore, Robert Moore, Vincent Moore and Vernon Moore, sisters Cledyth Zimmerman, Marguerite Ramirez, and Lydia Riddick.
