Raekwon Mclean

Raekwon Levi McLean, 24, of New Haven, CT gained his wings on Sunday, March 13, 2022. Raekwon was born Aug 14, 1997 to Channel Watts & Dyshant Levi McLean Sr. Of New Haven, CT.

Raekwon was a talented and gifted young man. He could and would do anything that he’d put his mind to. He loved sports as most kids, but basketball was his thing. Throughout his childhood years, he played basketball for numerous youth teams, AAU teams, and Wilbur Cross high school. He utilized basketball to gain knowledge, wisdom, and an understanding of life.

Raekwon had dreams and goals; however, his aspirations was not for cars, clothes, or money. His prayers, dreams, and goals were to live to see 24, but to see 25 was his biggest prayer. Raekwon lost his two best friends before the age of 24. Sadly, he also lost his older brother Dyshant Levi McLean Jr at the age of 25 in 2016.

On October 10, 2021, Rae received the greatest news from his girlfriend Gornelle Hunter, he was a father to be. Raekwon was on Mount Everest. That’s all he talked about for weeks to come. Rae had major plans as a father to be. Being a father was going to change him especially when he found out he was having a little girl who shall be named Kehlani Channel McLean. Her expected arrival is July 7, 2022. He was on cloud nine and very happy to become a father.

He leaves to cherish his memory, daughter Kehlani Channel McLean, Father Dyshant Levi McLean Sr, Mother Channel Watts, Grandparents Arthur Lee Arrington, Karen Knox McLean & James Porter, Brother’s Jahleel Rogers, Kenneth Wilson Jr, Sister’s Mahogany, Shantajha McLean, Ariana Moore, and Heaven Diaz. Nephew’s Qoree and Jakai McLean, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Godmothers, God brothers, God sisters, and friends.

Raekwon will be met at the pearly gates in heaven as he was predeceased by his paternal grandmother Gwendolyn Watts, Great Grandparents Barzia & Rose Lee Watts, older brother Dyshant Levi McLean Jr, and his 2 best friends Jericho Scott & Kaymar Tanner.
