In Loving Memory of Raul Rolando Torres

March 29, 1944 – October 28, 2026

Raul Torres, 82, of Woodbridge, Connecticut, passed away on October 28, 2026.

Born on March 29, 1944, in Varadero, Cuba, Raul carried a deep love and appreciation for his Cuban heritage throughout his life. He was a proud Cuban and an equally proud American, embracing the opportunities of his adopted country while never forgetting his roots, traditions, and family history.

Raul pursued his passion for architecture and engineering, graduating from West Penn Tech Institute in 1968. As an architectural engineer, he contributed to numerous projects throughout his professional career, including work in New Jersey involving Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG). Later in life, he continued his dedication to public service through his work with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), retiring in 2010.

Above all, Raul was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Elizabeth, and a loving father to his four children, Dorian, Carlos, Elvis, and Teresita. He was a man of honor, honesty, integrity, and strong family values. His wisdom, character, and dedication to his family left a lasting impression on those who knew and loved him.

Raul had a lifelong fascination with history and took great pride in his family’s heritage. He enjoyed sharing stories about Cuba, discussing historical events, and passing along the knowledge and traditions of generations past. These conversations were more than stories; they were lessons about family, identity, perseverance, and the importance of remembering where we come from.

He also had a special appreciation for automobiles, particularly Cadillacs, which held a special place in his heart. His love for these classic American cars was one of the many passions that made him uniquely Raul.

A man of Catholic faith, Raul lived with quiet dignity and a deep commitment to the people he loved. Though he will be greatly missed, his legacy will endure through the values he instilled, the memories he created, and the love he shared with his family.

Raul is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth; his children, Dorian, Carlos, Elvis, and Teresita; and his loving family.
