Raymond Nesmith, was called home to be with the Lord on September 21,2022. He was born in Georgetown S.C. To the late Anna Bell and James Nesmith. He was survived by Aunt Elizabeth Brown and Uncle Melvin Green of Georgetown S.C, 4 Sisters, Willie Mae Nesmith of Chesapeake V.A, Vernetha Gibson, Loretta Gibson, Pecola Gibson, 2 Brothers Robert Nesmith, Tommy Gibson All of New Haven Ct. 3 Daughters Latoya Pickney of Indiana, Ramona Reed of South Carolina, Mirene Box of Illinois, 1 son Jalil Reed of South Carolina, 11 Grandchildren Kyson, Keymoni, Kaneil Pickney of Indiana, Katura Pickney of Louisiana, Tyra Gillard, Jaquan Shackleford, Antonio Thomas, Jamari Reed of South Carolia, Donald Box, Ciara Box, Dominique Box of Illinois, 3 Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Raymond was born and raised in Georgetown South Carolina where he attended Howard High School, and later relocated to New Haven, CT where he was employed at Charm Brick and Stone of East Haven then later became employed by Gateway Community College as a Short order cook, he was predeceased by his late grandparents Eddie Green SR. and Lottie Green, Parents James and Anna Bell Nesmith, two brothers Mack and James Michael Nesmith. Raymond loved to dance and put smiles on other people’s face, he was a jokester and the life of the party, for some reason he believed he was a smooth operator. Raymond will truly be missed.
A celebration of Raymond’s life will be held on Saturday October 1, 2022 at Colonial Funerals, 86 Circular Avenue, Hamden CT at 2pm. Viewing in Colonial from 1-2pm. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
