Ricky Johnson

Ricky Johnson, on December 18, 2024 at Yale New Haven Hospital, God called His beloved son, Ricky Lorenzo Johnson, to his heavenly home.  Ricky was purposed into this world on July 13, 1957, in Rustburg, Virginia.  He was the son of the late Alexander Johnson and the late Elaine Murrell Johnson. Ricky was educated in the Rustburg and Martinsville, Virginia school systems. He  relocated to New Haven, Connecticut where he found employment at Jet Cleaners as a steam presser.

Left to cherish fond memories, are his son, Eric Ross (Robin) of Manchester, CT, four sisters, Shirley Conner, Linda Brock, Alfreda Piggott, all of Hamden, CT, and Wanda Price of Martinsville, VA, one brother, Tony Johnson of Hamden, CT, one aunt, Henrietta Mack of Newark, New Jersey, a sister adopted by the Johnson family, Mother Vera Floyd of Hamden, CT, five grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  In addition to his parents, Ricky was predeceased by his sister, Joann Johnson, two brothers, Lanny Johnson, and Roger Johnson, three brothers-in-law, Willis Connor, Silas Brock and Alfonzie Piggott, paternal grandparents, Arthur and Hannah Johnson, and maternal grandparents, Robert and Clara Murrell.  Ricky will be missed immensely by all his loved ones.

A Celebration of Ricky’s Life will be held on Friday December 27, 2024 at Hamden Plains United Methodist Church, 15 Church Street, Hamden at 11am. Viewing in Church from 10am-11am. Condolences may be expressed at www.colonialfunerals.com
